Another Pedestrian killed on “dark and poorly lit” kern county road

55 people have now lost their lives to Kern County’s deadly streets in 2024. The most recent fatal hit occurred Dec. 10, around 7:30 p.m. The California Highway Patrol said a man was crossing the street on bicycle when he fell off onto the street, and a Honda Accord struck him. This is a continuing trend in pedestrian fatalities: Out of 55 total in 2024, 43 of them happened at night.

Officers at the scene said the area is dark and poorly lit.
